Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg confirms he'll return to the club in coaching role

Freddie Ljungberg is set to return to Arsenal.

The former Sweden international, who spent nine years with the Gunners between 1998 and 2007, will take up a coaching role in the club's academy.

Ljungberg will be working with Arsenal's Under-15 side while he endeavours to get his coaching badges.

He tweeted: "Hope everyone had a happy new year. Enjoying my last week in Cape Town before I go home to coach Arsenal's U-15! V excited."

The 38-year-old hasn't played since brief stint at Mumbai City in 2014, but will join former teammates Thierry Henry and Robert Pires working behind the scenes at Arsenal.

Henry has been working with the U-19 side while Pires has also been involved in some casual coaching.
